Camas Cemetery Records
The City of Camas operates the Camas Cemetery and provides an online Cemetery Records Search. The cemetery is at 630 NE Oak Street, Camas, WA 98607. Contact the office at (360) 834-4220 or finance@cityofcamas.us. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, excluding holidays. The cemetery's records management software contains over 5,800 burial records with death dates ranging from 1846 to recent years.
The Camas Cemetery was established in 1885 by the Camas Colony Company and was deeded to the City of Camas in 1914. Ownership returned fully to the city in 2007. Over the years, the cemetery incorporated graves from several local cemeteries, including the Camas Catholic Cemetery, which relocated a number of its graves and erected a memorial listing the names of all those moved. Grave ownership records are kept at Camas City Hall. The city offers columbarium and niche wall options, and cemetery lot fees are set by the city fee schedule. Cemetery staff also assist visitors and coordinate burials and interments.
The online search tool is a good first step when researching Camas obituary records because it can quickly confirm whether a person is buried at the city cemetery, and the record will include the burial date, plot section, and lot number that can then be matched against newspaper obituaries or death certificates.
The City of Camas Cemetery Records Search page provides a free online database of over 5,800 burial records with death dates from 1846 onward. The search covers the official Camas municipal cemetery at 630 NE Oak Street.
Each cemetery record shows burial date, plot section, lot number, grave number, and other details that can help confirm a Camas death before ordering a formal death certificate.
